The CAT Pumps 290 is a legendary Triplex Piston Pump renowned for its durability in continuous-duty industrial applications. As a true Positive Displacement Pump, it utilizes a unique "Uniflow" design where fluid moves continuously in one forward direction, creating a smooth, low-pulsation flow that is ideal for sensitive systems. This model is constructed with a distinctive Chrome-Plated Brass manifold and 304 Stainless Steel valve assemblies, offering exceptional wear resistance and extended seal life.

Unlike standard plunger pumps, the 290 features mechanically actuated inlet valves and floating pistons that are lubricated by the pumped liquid. This design provides strong suction capabilities, making it a preferred choice for self-serve car wash bays and high-pressure misting systems. With a verified flow rate of 3.5 GPM at 1,200 PSI, it is engineered for belt-drive performance, typically operating at a lower 1,200 RPM to reduce heat and vibration.
