💧 DuPont FilmTec™ NF270-400/34i Nanofiltration Membrane
The DuPont FilmTec™ NF270-400/34i is a high-productivity, high-area Nanofiltration (NF) Membrane specifically engineered to deliver exceptional organic removal while allowing for partial softening. Designed for municipal and industrial water treatment, this 8" x 40" element excels at removing high percentages of total organic carbon (TOC), trihalomethane (THM) precursors, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Unlike standard reverse osmosis membranes, the NF270 allows a medium-to-high passage of monovalent salts and a medium passage of hardness. This unique capability preserves essential minerals for optimal organoleptic (taste) properties while helping to manage corrosion risks within municipal distribution networks.
Constructed with a highly durable Polyamide Thin-Film Composite, this element yields an impressive permeate flow rate of 12,500 GPD at an ultra-low test pressure of just 70 PSI, drastically reducing system energy consumption. The "34i" designation highlights two key engineering features: a 34 mil low differential pressure (LDP) feed spacer that minimizes the impact of biological and colloidal fouling, and DuPont's patented iLEC™ (Interlocking End Caps). The iLEC technology eliminates the need for interconnecting O-rings, reducing the risk of leaks that can compromise permeate quality while lowering overall operating costs.
