The DuPont FilmTec SW30-2540 (formerly Dow FilmTec) is a highly efficient, small-scale reverse osmosis (RO) membrane engineered specifically for seawater desalination and marine liquid transfer. Manufactured utilizing advanced polyamide thin-film composite technology, this 2.5-inch by 40-inch spiral-wound element features a durable hard-shell fiberglass exterior. This industry-leading construction maximizes permeability and structural stability, allowing the membrane to deliver high-quality potable water in continuous-duty applications. It is widely specified for marine watermakers on yachts and boats, off-shore platforms, and small land-based commercial desalination systems.

Designed to provide exceptional productivity while reducing overall system wear, the SW30-2540 delivers a high permeate flow rate of 700 GPD (2.6 m³/d) with an impressive stabilized salt rejection of 99.7%. Operating efficiently at a standard test pressure of 800 PSI, this membrane drastically reduces the energy consumption of high-pressure booster pumps, allowing system operators to downsize pump requirements and lower operational expenses. Engineered to withstand challenging, high-salinity environments, the element safely accommodates a maximum applied pressure of 1200 PSI and a maximum feed flow of 6.0 GPM. By combining automated precision fabrication with state-of-the-art membrane chemistry, this RO element delivers the consistent, reliable liquid purification required for mission-critical marine and commercial desalination.
