FilmTec XLE PRO-4040 Extra-Low Energy RO Membrane
The DuPont FilmTec XLE PRO-4040 is a highly efficient, extra-low energy reverse osmosis (RO) membrane engineered specifically for small to mid-sized commercial water treatment systems. Manufactured utilizing advanced polyamide thin-film composite technology, this 4-inch by 40-inch spiral-wound element is designed to deliver superior water purity while significantly reducing overall facility energy consumption. As a direct successor to the legacy TW30LE series, the XLE PRO-4040 operates at a very low applied pressure, making it the most productive and energy-efficient membrane in the FilmTec commercial portfolio. To ensure rapid, convenient start-up and extended shelf life, these elements are supplied in a dry state with a durable tape outer wrap.
Designed to optimize facility operating economics, the XLE PRO-4040 produces a highly robust permeate flow rate of 2,750 gallons per day (GPD) with a stabilized salt rejection of 99.0%. It achieves these impressive performance metrics at an applied test pressure of only 125 PSI, allowing commercial operators to utilize smaller, less expensive high-pressure pumps and dramatically lower electrical costs compared to standard brackish water membranes. Engineered to safely accommodate a maximum operating pressure of 600 PSI and maximum feed flow rates up to 14 GPM, this combination of high flux, ultra-low operating pressure, and rigorous dissolved solids rejection makes the XLE PRO-4040 an optimal, industry-standard solution for hotels, restaurants, cafes, car washes, and point-of-entry commercial water purification setups.
