DuPont FilmTec™ Extra Low Energy (XLE) elements are engineered to deliver strong salt rejection at significantly lower feed pressures than standard reverse osmosis membranes, directly reducing the energy load on system booster pumps and lowering long-term operating costs. Built on advanced polyamide thin-film composite technology, XLE elements are widely used across municipal drinking water treatment, industrial utility water, demineralization, and water reuse applications where energy efficiency is a priority without compromising on water quality.

This collection spans the full XLE product range, from compact 2.5-inch and 4-inch elements suited to smaller commercial systems, up to high-capacity 8-inch by 40-inch elements designed for large-scale municipal and industrial installations. It also includes select XLE PRO elements, an updated generation offering improved permeate flow within the same standard footprint, making them a strong drop-in upgrade for existing systems. In addition to brackish water XLE elements, this collection includes SW30XLE seawater-rated Extra Low Energy elements, purpose-built for desalination systems and rated for a much higher 800 PSI operating pressure than the standard brackish water XLE line.

 

Choosing the right element: For tap water, brackish water, or general commercial RO systems operating in the 100–125 PSI range, select a standard XLE or XLE PRO element sized to your existing housing (2.5x21, 2.5x40, 4x21, or 4x40 for compact systems; 8x40 for higher-capacity installations). For seawater desalination systems designed around an 800 PSI operating pressure, select an SW30XLE model instead — these are not interchangeable with standard brackish water elements.
