The Cat Pumps 231 is an industrial-duty, 3-frame triplex positive displacement plunger pump engineered for high-pressure, continuous-duty liquid transfer. Constructed with a precision-machined 316 stainless steel manifold and 316 stainless steel valve assemblies, this pump offers exceptional structural strength and superior corrosion resistance. This premium metallurgy makes it an ideal choice for demanding applications such as reverse osmosis (RO), desalination, chemical injection, and harsh fluid handling where standard brass components would prematurely degrade. The wet-end features highly polished, solid ceramic plungers that provide a true wear surface to minimize friction and heat, significantly extending seal life under rigorous industrial conditions.

Designed to maximize uptime and efficiency, the 231 model delivers a steady flow rate of 2.3 gallons per minute (GPM) while operating at a maximum pressure of 1,500 PSI. Driven at an optimal speed of 1725 RPM, it features a durable die-cast aluminum crankcase with splash oil lubrication to ensure maximum load capacity and bearing life. The pump comes standard with NBR (Buna-N) seals and O-rings, allowing it to safely handle liquid temperatures up to 160°F (71°C). Its compact footprint and versatile design permit multiple drive configurations—including belt drive, clutch, or direct-drive with a bell housing and flexible coupling—providing a reliable, low-pulsation flow for aggressive liquids and high-salinity water systems.
