The BW30 series from DuPont FilmTec is an industry-standard platform for brackish water reverse osmosis, built on decades of proven polyamide thin-film composite membrane technology in a spiral-wound configuration. This collection spans the full BW30 lineup, used across municipal drinking water production, industrial demineralization for power generation, steel, and chemical processing, and water reuse applications where dependable, high-rejection performance is essential.
The naming convention within this family tells you what each variant is built for. The base BW30 chemistry is the industry-standard starting point, while PRO designates a newer-generation upgrade offering higher flow and rejection than the classic BW30. HR (High Rejection) variants prioritize maximum salt rejection, and LE (Low Energy) variants are tested at a lower feed pressure to reduce pumping costs. XFR and XHR variants use fouling-resistant chemistry with enhanced cleanability for challenging feed water, and an "i" suffix indicates iLEC™ interlocking end caps, which reduce the risk of O-ring leaks. A "/34" designation means a thicker 34-mil feed spacer for improved fouling resistance. Elements are available in compact 2.5" and 4" diameters for smaller systems, up through full 8" elements for large-scale municipal and industrial installations.
Choosing the right element: For smaller systems, select a 2.5" or 4" diameter element. For higher-capacity municipal or industrial systems, select an 8" element. If your feed water is prone to fouling and cleanability is a priority, choose an XFR or XHR variant. If reducing pump energy costs matters most, choose an LE variant. If leak-resistant end caps are a priority for your installation, choose an "i" variant.
