Hydranautics CPA5-MAX Brackish Water RO Membrane (12,000 GPD, 99.7% Rejection)
The Hydranautics CPA5-MAX is a high-area, 8-inch brackish water reverse osmosis membrane manufactured by Hydranautics, a Nitto Group Company and a globally recognized leader in membrane technology. Built on Hydranautics' proven Composite Polyamide (CPA) platform, the CPA5-MAX sets an industry standard for high-rejection RO elements, delivering minimized biofouling, minimized colloidal fouling, and enhanced cleanability for demanding commercial and industrial water treatment applications.
The defining feature of the CPA5-MAX is its increased 440 square feet of active membrane area — a 10% increase over the standard CPA5-LD element — making it especially well suited for RO polishing stages and low-fouling applications. This larger membrane area allows system designers to achieve the same or greater production capacity with fewer pressure vessels and a smaller equipment footprint, helping to reduce both capital costs and floor space requirements in new or retrofit installations.
Constructed from a composite polyamide thin-film membrane in a spiral-wound configuration, the CPA5-MAX delivers a permeate flow rate of 12,000 GPD (45.5 m³/d) with a salt rejection of 99.7% (99.6% minimum), providing consistently high-purity water for applications such as power generation, industrial wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor processing, and water reuse.
