Hydranautics ESPA4-LD-4040 Extra Low Energy Brackish Water RO Membrane (2,500 GPD)

 

The Hydranautics ESPA4-LD-4040 (manufactured by a Nitto Group Company) is an ultra-low pressure, energy-saving reverse osmosis (RO) membrane designed to purify brackish water. Built with an advanced composite polyamide polymer, this 4-inch by 40-inch spiral-wound element features a special 34-mil low-differential (LD) feed spacer. This thicker spacer design minimizes colloidal fouling and extends the time between required cleanings, ensuring long-lasting performance in commercial and industrial water treatment systems.

Engineered for maximum energy efficiency, the ESPA4-LD-4040 delivers a high permeate flow rate of 2,350 gallons per day (GPD) with a nominal salt rejection of 99.2%. It operates at an exceptionally low test pressure of just 100 PSI, which drastically reduces the energy required by high-pressure booster pumps and saves on operational costs. Built to withstand demanding commercial use, it safely handles a maximum applied pressure of 600 PSI and continuous liquid temperatures up to 113°F (45°C).
