DuPont FilmTec™ HSRO-4040-FF Heat Sanitizable RO Membrane (2,900 GPD)
The DuPont FilmTec™ HSRO-4040-FF is a Heat Sanitizable reverse osmosis element engineered for facilities that require the strictest standards of purity and hygiene. Manufactured using high-performance polyamide thin-film composite membrane technology, this 4-inch by 40-inch element is built to withstand hot water sanitization up to 185°F (85°C), giving system operators the ability to sanitize their RO system with hot water alone and reduce or eliminate dependency on chemical sanitizers. This makes it a trusted solution for purified water production in pharmaceutical, medical, and biotechnology applications, as well as permeate polishing in food and dairy processing.
The HSRO-4040-FF features a Full-Fit configuration, a sanitary design that helps minimize the stagnant, hard-to-clean areas found in conventional elements, supporting more thorough sanitation cycles. With 90 square feet of active membrane area, this element gives system designers the flexibility to operate at a lower flux or achieve target capacity with fewer elements. Under standard manufacturer test conditions, the HSRO-4040-FF delivers a permeate flow rate of 2,900 GPD with a minimum salt rejection of 97%, and the product is listed to NSF/ANSI 61 for material safety in drinking water applications.
Each element ships complete with two end caps, and DuPont offers an optional coupler with EPR O-rings for linking multiple elements within a shared pressure vessel housing. Per DuPont's guidance, elements should be pre-conditioned with hot water prior to initial use; operators can expect an initial flux decrease and rejection increase following this pre-conditioning step, which is normal for this element type.
