Fouling-Tolerant Brackish Water RO Element for Challenging Feed Water and Wastewater Reuse
The LG BW 400 R Dura is an 8-inch by 40-inch brackish water reverse osmosis element from LG Chem, built on its NanoH2O™ thin film nanocomposite (TFN) technology for feed water that is harder to treat. It combines a stabilized salt rejection of 99.7% (99.6% minimum) with a permeate flow of 11,000 GPD from 400 square feet of membrane, rated at a test pressure of 225 PSI. A 34-mil low differential pressure feed spacer reduces pressure drop across the element and helps lower cleaning frequency.
The "Dura" in the name refers to durability. The membrane tolerates cleaning across a wide pH range of 1 to 13, which gives operators more room to remove fouling when it does build up. LG positions the element for high salinity brackish water and for wastewater reuse systems where the feed is variable or prone to fouling. Fouling resistance, high rejection, flow, and durability together aim to reduce the total cost of ownership.
The BW 400 R Dura fits a standard 8-inch pressure vessel and runs at feed pressures up to 600 PSI and temperatures up to 113°F, with a continuous pH range of 2 to 11. LG's NanoH2O brackish water membranes serve municipal and industrial users around the world, and this element suits plants that need dependable rejection without frequent cleaning stops.
