The LG Water Solutions (a business unit of LG Chem) LG BW 4040 UES is an ultra-energy-saving, brackish water reverse osmosis (RO) membrane engineered for maximum permeability in commercial and light industrial applications. Manufactured utilizing LG's proprietary Thin-Film Nanocomposite (TFN) technology, this 4-inch by 40-inch spiral-wound element features a patented polyamide layer embedded with benign nanomaterials. This advanced structural design significantly enhances the membrane's flux rate while maintaining intrinsic anti-fouling properties. It is specifically designed to treat low-salinity brackish water sources where minimizing energy consumption and operational costs is the primary objective, without sacrificing the quality of the permeate water.

Engineered to deliver exceptional productivity at extremely low feed pressures, the LG BW 4040 UES achieves a high permeate flow rate of 2,700 GPD (10.2 m³/d) with a stabilized salt rejection of 99.0%. Notably, it is tested and operates efficiently at an ultra-low standard applied pressure of just 100 PSI, significantly reducing the electrical demand and mechanical wear on high-pressure booster pumps compared to standard brackish water elements.
