LG SW 400 GR Seawater Reverse Osmosis Membrane (7,500 GPD, 99.85% Rejection)
The LG SW 400 GR is a high-performance 8-inch seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) membrane element manufactured by LG Chem, engineered for large-scale desalination applications where both permeate water quality and energy efficiency are critical. Built using LG's proprietary Thin Film Nanocomposite (TFN) membrane technology, this element is part of LG's "GR" (Great Rejection) product line, purpose-designed to deliver excellent salt and boron rejection while keeping energy consumption competitive for high-salinity seawater feeds.
The SW 400 GR features a 34-mil feed spacer, which improves resistance to fouling and supports more effective cleaning cycles over the life of the element — an important consideration for coastal desalination plants and marine environments where feedwater quality can vary. With an active membrane area of 400 square feet, it delivers a permeate flow rate of 7,500 GPD (28.4 m³/d), a stabilized salt rejection of 99.85%, and a boron rejection of 93%, making it well suited for single-pass and multi-pass desalination plant designs serving municipalities, industrial facilities, and marine or offshore installations.
Backed by LG's proven track record in the global seawater RO market, the SW 400 GR offers well-documented, long-lasting reliability, giving system designers and plant operators a dependable option for producing high-quality freshwater from seawater sources.
