LG SW 400 R Seawater Reverse Osmosis Membrane – 9,000 GPD, 99.85% Salt Rejection, 93% Boron Rejection, 8"x40" TFN Element
For desalination plants and marine applications, reliably converting seawater into high-quality fresh water is the most critical aspect of the operation. The LG SW 400 R is a commercial-grade, 8-inch by 40-inch seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) membrane engineered to meet the extreme demands of single and multi-pass desalination systems. Utilizing industry-leading Thin Film Nanocomposite (TFN) technology, this element provides the exact balance of high salt rejection and maximum productivity required to process medium to high salinity seawater. Built for heavy-duty, continuous operation, it ensures consistent, ultra-pure water production for large-scale municipal, industrial, and marine desalination facilities.
Under the hood, this membrane is engineered to maximize both water quality and energy efficiency. It features 400 square feet of active membrane area and utilizes a specialized 34-mil feed spacer specifically designed to improve fouling resistance, significantly extending the operational lifespan and time between required chemical cleanings. Designed to yield a massive permeate flow rate of 9,000 gallons per day (GPD), it achieves an outstanding stabilized salt rejection of 99.85% and a high boron rejection of 93%. Tested at a standard applied pressure of 800 PSI, this high-rejection membrane reduces the energy requirements of high-pressure booster pumps while safely handling a maximum applied pressure of up to 1,200 PSI. This provides operators with a lower total cost of desalination without compromising system output or water purity.
