Low-Pressure RO Element for 2.5-Inch Housings

The HCTI MEM-2526LP is a 2.5-inch by 26-inch low-pressure reverse osmosis element. It uses a thin-film composite polyamide membrane and fits a 2.45- to 2.5-inch ID housing or pressure vessel. It is rated at 500 GPD with a nominal salt rejection of 99.4% (98.0% minimum) at a test pressure of just 150 PSI, which suits systems with limited pump pressure.

Flow and rejection are rated at 1,500 ppm NaCl, 150 PSI, 77°F, pH 7.5, and 15% recovery. Individual elements can vary by up to 15% in flow. The element is 26 inches long with a 2.4-inch outer diameter and a 0.75-inch permeate tube, and it has a tape overwrap.

It tolerates operating pressure up to 300 PSI and temperatures up to 113°F. The continuous pH range is 2 to 11, with cleaning allowed from pH 1 to 12 for up to 30 minutes. Feed water should stay under 1 NTU turbidity and SDI 5, with free chlorine below 0.1 ppm. According to HCTI's data sheet, all materials are NSF and/or FDA approved, with the exception of the outer wrap and its adhesive.
