The Hydranautics (Nitto) SWC5-4040 is a high-performance, specialty reverse osmosis (RO) membrane engineered specifically for seawater desalination and high-salinity water treatment applications. Manufactured utilizing a robust composite polyamide polymer, this 4-inch by 40-inch spiral-wound element is designed to deliver maximum energy efficiency at the lowest operational costs. It provides optimal salt and boron rejection while operating at lower pressures, making it an industry standard for continuous-duty commercial applications, including large-scale desalination plants and high-TDS industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Designed to maximize productivity without compromising the quality of the produced water, the SWC5-4040 provides an exceptional permeate flow rate of 1,900 GPD (7.2 m³/d) with a nominal salt rejection of 99.7%. The element utilizes an 85 square foot active membrane area and operates highly efficiently at a test pressure of 800 PSI (5.5 MPa) on a standard 32,000 ppm NaCl solution. Engineered to withstand demanding environments, this membrane safely accommodates a maximum applied pressure of 1200 PSI (8.27 MPa) and a maximum continuous operating temperature of 113°F (45°C).
