The Dow FilmTec XLE-2540 is a high-performance, extra low energy reverse osmosis (RO) membrane engineered specifically for commercial water purification systems. Utilizing advanced polyamide thin-film composite technology, this 2.5-inch by 40-inch element is designed to deliver exceptional water quality and high productivity while operating at significantly reduced feed pressures. The tape-wrapped exterior construction makes it highly economical and ideally suited for commercial frameworks that utilize one or two membrane elements per pressure vessel housing.
Designed to minimize operational costs, the XLE-2540 features a highly efficient membrane flux that produces a robust nominal permeate flow rate of 850 gallons per day (GPD) at an applied test pressure of only 100 PSI. This drastically reduces the energy demands placed on system booster pumps, lowering overall facility capital and operating expenses. Operating with a 28-mil feed spacer to mitigate pressure drops and resist internal fouling, the membrane maintains a stabilized salt rejection rate of 99.0%.
