The DuPont FilmTec XLE-4040 is an extra low energy reverse osmosis (RO) membrane engineered to deliver highly efficient, low-cost water treatment for commercial applications. Built utilizing advanced polyamide thin-film composite technology, this 4-inch by 40-inch spiral-wound element provides consistent and reliable system performance. It is specifically designed to operate at significantly lower feed pressures than standard RO membranes, directly reducing energy consumption and lowering the operational strain on high-pressure system pumps without sacrificing permeate water quality.

Engineered to maximize productivity, the XLE-4040 achieves a robust permeate flow rate of 2,600 gallons per day (GPD) with a stabilized salt rejection of 99.0%. Notably, it achieves these exceptional performance metrics at an applied pressure of just 100 PSI, making it an optimal choice for purifying low-salinity tap water and commercial water sources. Designed with a tape-wrapped outer shell, it safely handles a maximum operating pressure of 600 PSI and feed flow rates up to 14 GPM. Its durable construction and ability to withstand continuous liquid temperatures up to 113°F (45°C) make it a highly reliable and economical standard for food service, hospitality, and light industrial water purification systems.
